Ananthi Sankaranarayanan (Aruna) serves as a Content Developer for Math Matrix at the Lastinger Center. She creates extensive content for professional development modules, ensuring it is based on relevant research and best practices in mathematics education.
Ananthi was a mathematics and computer science teacher in India, and taught in both public and private schools. She was also engaged in preparing students, from low socioeconomic backgrounds, for IIT JEE by teaching foundational courses and tutoring mathematics. She has held positions as a research assistant and staff at the University of Houston and a research associate at Texas Tech University’s Center for Leadership in Education. Ananthi has also presented her research agenda at national and international conferences.
Ananthi earned her PhD in curriculum & instruction in mathematics education from the University of Houston and master’s in education from Texas Tech University. Ananthi holds a bachelor’s degree in education as well as a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer programming from Bharathidasan University in India. She enjoys blogging, creating YouTube content, and gardening in her leisure time.
