Christina Flake, M.Ed.

Coordinator, Literacy Implementation

Christina Flake serves as the Literacy Implementation Coordinator at the Lastinger Center for Learning. In this role, Christina will create, coordinate, and facilitate training that will provide support for administrators, coaches, and teachers on best practices in reading instruction based upon the Science of Reading.

Christina served as a educator in the state of Florida for 14 years in the roles of elementary school teacher, middle school teacher, and K-12 literacy coach. She then transitioned to serve as a partnership facilitator for the University of Florida Literacy Institute where she worked alongside district leaders, school leaders, and teachers to provide professional learning experiences and ongoing coaching support focused around effective literacy instruction and intervention based upon the Science of Reading.

Christina has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, a master’s degree in educational leadership, and is currently finishing her PhD in special education at the University of Florida. In her free time she enjoys kayaking, playing pickleball, and spending quality time with her family which now includes twin grandchildren.
