Chaohua Ou, Ed.D.
Director of Data & Learning Technologies and Research Scientist
Chaohua Ou, Ed.D. serves as the Director of Data & Learning Technologies and Research Scientist at the UF Lastinger Center for Learning. In this role, Dr. Ou leads strategic initiatives focused on developing transformative educational solutions, strengthening data systems, and integrating AI-augmented learning tools to meet the evolving needs of educators and learners.
Her collaborative approach—bridging research, technology, and practice—helps advance the Center’s mission to scale educational innovations for lifelong learning. Dr. Ou earned her Doctor of Education in Educational/Instructional Technology from Texas Tech University. Her research explores technology-supported learning, engagement, and the intersection of AI and education.
With more than 15 years of experience in learning technology, instructional design, artificial intelligence (AI), and data strategy, Dr. Ou brings a distinguished record of advancing digital learning innovation across education and research settings.She joins UF from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she served as Managing Director of the National AI Institute for Adult Learning and Online Education, a $20 million NSF-funded initiative spanning 10 universities, nonprofits, and industry partners.
