Ethan Fieldman
Advisory Board Member
Ethan Fieldman is an educator first and foremost, with over 20 years of experience teaching students in various capacities. He is a prolific innovator with more than 30 patents in educational technology, and an accomplished entrepreneur who has founded several successful ventures. Ethan co-founded and led Algebra Nation, which later evolved into Math Nation, from 2012 to 2022. This groundbreaking program now serves over one million students and has significantly improved algebra scores across several states.
He serves as the chair of one of Florida’s rural workforce development regional boards and is a board member of Take Stock in Children, a mentoring organization that oversees 6,000+ current mentors and has awarded $200 million in total scholarships. Ethan also contributes his expertise as a board member of the University of Florida’s Lastinger Center for Learning, in addition to co-teaching an AI-infused entrepreneurship course for the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida and acting as a key consultant for a new $40 million statewide tutoring initiative in Florida.
Most of Ethan’s time is devoted to integrating transformative Virtual Reality technology into classrooms across the USA. This initiative, which includes distributing VR hardware and the free “Curio XR” software, features hand-tracking and an innovative AI-powered “Study Buddy” avatar designed to enhance the learning experiences of students aged 10 and up. With extensive experience in teaching, professional development, tutoring, tutor training, and curriculum development, Ethan is focused on making a significant impact on educational practices and outcomes.
When he’s not working to improve public education, Ethan enjoys spending time with his wife (also an educator), and playing soccer, basketball, flag football, and chess with his two young sons, ages 5 and 7.
