Early Language and Literacy
The UF Lastinger Center for Learning’s Early Language and Literacy program focuses on improving outcomes for children and ensuring they have a smooth transition into formal schooling. This initiative improves the implementation of research-based early language and literacy instruction so that children benefit from increased quality and quantity of language interaction at school and at home.
The Early Language and Literacy program:

Intended Participants
This program is designed for:

Infant Toddler Educators (Birth to 3)

PreK Educators (Year 4 and 5)
Delivery and Duration
The Early Language and Literacy program can be implemented face-to-face or virtually over 10 months, or 12 months* through the summer:
- 3-Day Institute: virtual or face-to-face
- 2 or 3* Flamingo Early Learning Courses
- 4 virtual Early Literacy Communities of Practice
- 2 or 3* on site implementation support visits
- Evaluation report
