Distance Learning Resources

Help In a Time of Need.

During these challenging times, we’re witnessing extraordinary shifts in how families, students, educators, and administrators engage in the teaching and learning process. As pioneers in technology-based educational supports, the Lastinger Center has a suite of free and readily available online resources available during these unprecedented times.

COVID-19 Virtual Listening Tour

COVID-19 has impacted schools, districts, and early childhood programs in unique and challenging ways.  Early data indicate tremendous variation in the approaches taken by Florida’s education programs in response. As organizations plan for the safe reopening of businesses and institutions, there is a need to analyze what worked successfully to inform planning and future decision-making across the country.

That is why the Lastinger Center for Learning is conducting a comprehensive analysis of the responses and approaches taken by public and private education programs from birth through 12th grade in Florida. Beginning in May, we are launching a Virtual Listening Tour to gather best practices. We will then use the data to develop several briefs and a final report for release in fall 2020. Visit our website often for updates on our progress and contact Ali Jones at Ali.Jones@coe.ufl.edu with additional questions.

UPDATE - May 26

Our staff and volunteers are reaching out to students, families, educators (early learning and K12), and administrators starting today. If you would like to participate in a videoconference or phone interview to share your experience with distance learning, please contact Ali Jones at Ali.Jones@coe.ufl.edu

We will release the surveys this week. To support our efforts, visit our website or follow us on social media for a link. Facebook - Twitter - Instagram - LinkedIn
