Erika Fritz-Ochs serves as the engagement project manager for the New Worlds Reading Initiative at the Lastinger Center for Learning. Erika is passionate about providing high quality education for all students in Florida. For nine years, she served as a classroom teacher in Title I schools in Pasco and Leon Counties. During this time, she acted as the family and community outreach chairperson at her school, establishing strong school and community partnerships. Erika has seen the value of these partnerships and how they enhance learning opportunities by providing students with the resources and experiences necessary to improve student outcomes. Erika joined the Florida Department of Education to oversee projects such as the Florida Teacher LEAD Network, High Impact Teacher Corps and to serve as the programmatic manager for the Teacher Salary Increase Allocation that was signed into law during the 2020 Legislative Session.
Erika earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management, Master of Science in Elementary Education and Master of Education in Educational Leadership.
