Specialist, Family and Community Engagement for New Worlds Reading Initiative

Jeanine Davis serves as the Family and Community Engagement Specialist for the New Worlds Reading Initiative at the Lastinger Center for Learning. In this role, Jeanine contributes significantly to the New Worlds Reading Initiative team for recruitment and partnerships and facilitates events with parents and other stakeholders in the Northeast Florida region.

Jeanine began her career in early young adulthood as a caregiver, serving the elderly, vulnerable adults, and children with varying physical, mental, and emotional abilities. Her passion for people and desire to make a difference in her community led her to a career in early learning in 2005. Since then, Jeanine has dedicated 19 years serving the early learning community in various roles as an Infant/Toddler Teacher for a non-profit family resource center, as an Early Head Start Home Visitor, and as a Professional Development Trainer. Prior to joining the Lastinger Center in 2024, Jeanine spent 9 years serving the Early Learning Coalition of Duval providing quality training, coaching and mentoring to early learning directors, teachers, and parents to improve child outcomes by increasing family engagement.

Jeanine holds an associate degree in child development from Rochester Community and Technical College, a bachelor’s degree in human relations from Point University, and a Master of Divinity from Luther Rice College and Seminary. In her free time, Jeanine enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
