Advisory Board Member

Director, UF Office of Institutional Assessment

Dr. Jeanna Mastrodicasa is a new board member for the Lastinger Center. She is the Director of the Office of Institutional Assessment at the University of Florida, as part of the Office of the Provost. In this role, Jeanna leads continuous improvement, assessment, and institutional effectiveness for the curriculum and other mission-driven activities at UF.

Jeanna has worked at UF since 1997, most recently as the Chief Operating Officer for UF’s state-wide Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. In that role, she led facilities, human resources, communications, and information technology support units for the 3800+ UF/IFAS employees across Florida. Previously, Jeanna was the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, where she began her work with institutional assessment as well as numerous other student-supporting initiatives such as Off Campus Life and Student Legal Services. She worked with large departmental budgets in both of those positions. Jeanna also has significant work experience as an academic advisor and working with new student orientation from the first decade of her career. She has also served as a Gainesville City Commissioner from 2006-2012 while working at UF.

Jeanna is a graduate of the UF College of Education, earning her Ph.D. in higher education administration in 2004. She has a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a J.D. in law from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in college student personnel from the University of Tennessee. In her free time, Jeanna spends time with her family–husband Clay Sweger and 9th grade twin daughters Scarlett and Savannah–and likes cheering for her favorite college football team, listening to old school hip hop, and being a lifelong learner. Current learning topics include the Arabic language, turntable skills on a mixer, and data visualization skills.
