Jesse Steif

Manager, Literacy Implementation

Jesse Steif serves as the Manager of Literacy Implementation at the Lastinger Center for Learning. In this role, Jesse brings a deep base of content knowledge to support, design, and deliver a range of professional learning experiences about multi-tiered systems of support and the science of reading.

Jesse began his career in public education as an elementary teacher, then school psychologist. He has led several district initiatives around streamlining and improving assessment systems, identification and intervention for children with Specific Learning Disabilities, and improving tier 1 literacy instruction. Previously, Jesse was an MTSS and Literacy Specialist with Pinellas County Schools where he provided coaching to teachers and leadership teams and designed and facilitated professional learning experiences.

Jesse has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and an education specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology, both from the University of Central Florida. In his free time, Jesse enjoys spending time with his twin daughters, reading science fiction, cooking for his family, and serving on the boards of several educational nonprofits.
