Kyra Purvis serves as the Manager of Literacy Content at the Lastinger Center for Learning. In this role, Kyra collaborates on and oversees multiple projects including teacher professional development and micro-credentials.

An educator with over 25 years of classroom experience in the elementary and secondary levels, Kyra also developed content and facilitated the Florida Reading Initiative, a premiere literacy initiative in the state of Florida.

Kyra has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Early Childhood from the University of Florida. In addition, Kyra received a specialist’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova University. Kyra holds a State of Florida Teaching certificate in the areas of Elementary Education, Educational Leadership, Middle Grades Math and holds a Reading Endorsement. Kyra enjoys spending time with her children, watching football with her husband, and investigating true crimes.
