Senior Consultant, Office of the President, Scholastic, Inc.

Larry V. Holland is currently a Senior Consultant for Scholastic Inc. In that role, he advises on State Level Literacy Policy and is also responsible for developing strategic relationships across a wide spectrum of state-level policy makers – including Governor’s Offices, Departments of Education, State Legislators, State Education Organizations, and Foundations focused on education. He has been in this role for the past 17 years.

Prior to that, Mr. Holland was SVP of Global Human Resources and Employee Services, advising the Chairman and Executive team on HR Strategy, and Organizational Development, while leading the company’s HR teams and Employee Services functions.  These responsibilities included Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Talent Management, Labor Relations, Diversity & Inclusion, Benefits, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Employee Communications, Real Estate Development, Telecommunications, and the company’s Intranet.

Before joining Scholastic, Mr. Holland held senior-level positions at MCI, CitiBank, PepsiCo, and the Wall Street Journal.

Mr. Holland is a dual-level graduate of The University of Chicago where he focused on Economics and Politics.  He is also a proud graduate of the world renown St. Augustine High School in New Orleans where he grew up.

He currently lives on a working farm in Mississippi where he was born. He comes from a long line of educators. His family has also been farming in rural Mississippi for 5 generations.
