Megan Fields serves as the communications coordinator for the New Worlds Reading Initiative, administered by the Lastinger Center for Learning. Megan first gained experience in marketing books through an internship with the University Press of Florida while studying public relations and English. Megan went on to earn her J.D. at Florida State University, but even while studying law, she found herself drawn to communications positions, interning with a local public relations agency, doing freelance writing, and working as a social media and communications assistant with the FSU College of Law. After graduation, Megan returned to Gainesville to serve as a digital marketing coordinator for Trimark Properties, where Megan marketed both well-established and newly developed brands.

Megan earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and her Bacherlor of Arts in English from the University of Florida, and gained her Juris Doctor of Law at Florida State University. In her free time, Megan finds joy in creative hobbies, from collaborative storytelling through Dungeons & Dragons to crafts such as scrapbooking, knitting and sewing.
