Michele S. James is the Vendor Specialist at the Lastinger Center for Learning, where she plays a crucial role in managing vendor and supplier relationships. Her responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including overseeing vendor registration and annual renewals with UF Vendor Relations, maintaining up-to-date vendor records, and initiating payments. Reviews and approves transactions within established guidelines and ensures vendor contracts comply with UF policies.
Michele began her career in 2018 at UF Shands as a Revenue Specialist, where she honed her skills in financial management and billing. She then advanced to the role of Coordinator of Research Billing, further developing her expertise in handling complex financial transactions. In 2024, Michele transitioned to the Marion County School Board as a Confidential Secretary, where she managed sensitive information and administrative tasks, which has contributed to her strong organizational abilities in her current role at the Lastinger Center.
Michele’s holds a degree in Healthcare Administration from Rasmussen University, which has provided her with a solid foundation in managing complex administrative and financial tasks. Outside of her professional life, Michele enjoys spending quality time with her daughter, Jaelynn, and cherishes moments with her family.
