Monica O’Dea, MEd
Senior Coordinator, Literacy Implementation
Monica D. O’Dea is a Literacy Implementation Coordinator at the Lastinger Center for Learning. She collaborates with the Literacy Team in the design and implementation of professional development courses.
Monica holds teaching certifications in elementary education, school administration and supervision and reading. Prior to joining the Lastinger Center, Monica spent many years teaching in the public schools of South Carolina where she served as a classroom teacher, reading interventionist, curriculum coordinator and school administrator in Title 1 schools.
Monica holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Winthrop College. She earned her Master of Education in Elementary Administration and Supervision as well as her reading teacher certification from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. Monica enjoys biking, hiking, boating and spending time with her family and friends. Her goal this year is to hike the southern portion on the Palmetto Trail of South Carolina from Awendaw to Columbia.
