Pam Alfaro serves as the Literacy Implementation Manager at the Lastinger Center for Learning. In this role, Pam collaborates on and oversees multiple literacy projects, which include the Literacy Matrix, Literacy Coaches, Literacy for Leaders, and Small-group Literacy Instruction.

Before joining the Lastinger Center, Pam served as an Education Associate at the Delaware Department of Education, where she managed K-12 ELA programs and early literacy initiatives outlined in the Delaware Literacy Plan. She also served as the co-director for the Delaware Early Literacy Initiative (DELI) and Delaware Multi-tiered System of Support (DE-MTSS) and provided technical assistance in elementary ELA, early literacy, and MTSS to local education agencies. Pam began her career as an early childhood diagnostician and went on to serve as a special education transition specialist, instructional coach, and reading specialist.

Pam earned her B.S. in Special Education from the College of Charleston and her M.Ed. in Reading from Wilmington University. She also holds a certification in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Outside of work, her favorite pastimes are biking, reading, traveling, playing sports, and spending time with family and friends.
