Rachael Aming-Attai

Math Content Specialist and Implementation Specialist

Rachael Aming-Attai serves as the Math Content Development and Implementation Specialist at the Lastinger Center for Learning. In this role, Rachael develops and writes detailed content for professional learning modules that are focused on building conceptual development of mathematical content. She also ensures that all professional learning content and pedagogy modules align with relevant research and offer best practices for mathematics instruction.

Rachael began her career as an elementary generalist teacher but moved to teaching mathematics at the middle and high school levels. She later taught math content and pedagogy courses as an Associate Professor at the University of Indianapolis in Indiana, and at the University of South Florida. She also worked as an Instructional Coach in Manatee County, Florida, where she mentored and supported teachers in improving their math instruction by applying research-based practices.

Rachael holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Math and Science Education from the University of the West Indies and a master’s degree in Secondary Math Education from Ball State University in Indiana. She also holds a master’s degree in Educational Psychology (Statistical and Research Methods) from Ball State University, as well as a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana University (Mathematics Education with Special Education as an area of concentration). In her free time, Rachael enjoys singing, playing the guitar and steel drums, and swimming.
