After 10 weeks of gathering perspectives from people with varied backgrounds and educational experiences, the UF Lastinger Center for Learning is excited to share the preliminary results from our Listening Tour about how we can advocate for and enhance the quality of K-12 mathematics education in Florida. 

We invited partners, community members and Listening Tour participants to join us for a series of Math Listening Tour Convenings to review the tour’s research questions and methodology, hear about emerging themes, share their perspectives and insights, and contribute to the discussion to ensure we’re on the right track.

Our Math Listening Tour Convenings are another way we can connect with and understand the needs associated with math education in the broader community. This also builds our capacity to advocate for impactful changes in education in Florida and develop courses and programs that meet real education needs. Listening Tour perspectives are analyzed and incorporated into Lastinger Center strategic planning, and shared with educational leaders, policy-makers and elected officials to advocate for positive changes to our education system.
