Shanita Hairston serves as the Regional Partners Coordinator at the Lastinger Center for Learning. In this role, Shanita Hairston supports Regional Partners with the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the New Worlds Reading Program.

Shanita began her career as an elementary teacher in Duval County. After teaching for 5 years, Shanita continued her professional growth by spending most of her career as a district administrator. Previously, Shanita also served as an Assistant Principal where she gained additional experience as an administrator, at the school-based level.

Shanita has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Florida and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Florida. In her free time, Shanita enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, and making ballon arches.
