Whitney Augustine, M.Ed

Literacy Implementation Specialist

Whitney Augustine serves as a literacy implementation specialist at the Lastinger Center for Learning. In this role, she designs and facilitates professional learning experiences in the area of small group instruction by developing and creating learning activities, assisting in the selection of materials, infusing adult learning strategies within materials, and providing the evidence base that supports the selection of materials, programs, and strategies.

Whitney has 32 years of experience in K-12 education. Previously, Whitney has served as a classroom teacher, reading interventionist, literacy coach, mentor, district literacy facilitator, and State Regional Literacy Director, all in Florida.

Whitney earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Master of Education degrees at the University of Florida. She also holds state endorsements for Reading and ESOL. In her spare time, Whitney enjoys spending time with family, reading and cheering on the Gators!
