Literacy Coach Endorsement
The UF Lastinger Center for Learning’s Literacy Coach Endorsement is a comprehensive online program created in partnership with the Florida Department of Education and Just Read, Florida! to equip literacy coaches with the skills, expertise and resources they need to increase the effectiveness of literacy instruction.
What is it?
Earn the Literacy Coach Endorsement through:
- Online modules
- Job-embedded coaching conversations
- Interactive assignments
- Individualized feedback from a trained facilitator
- Access to Literacy Playbooks to support coaching
Who is eligible?
- K-12 non-RAISE school-based literacy coaches in Florida
- District and Consortia literacy leaders who support coaches
- Coaches who have the Florida Reading Endorsement on their professional certificate
Content & Duration
The program is delivered through five highly engaging online modules that include videos, interactive activities, handouts, reflective assignments, self-evaluation and job-embedded tasks. A trained facilitator provides direct feedback to participants to support their growth on assignments. Participants also receive access to the Literacy Coaching Playbooks.
The program can be completed over the course of one school year. Each module takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks to complete.

*Stipend eligibility is still being determined.
The stipends have become available due to the 2024-2025 General Appropriations Act authorizing funding for the University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning to provide stipends for the two state pathways of the Literacy Coach Endorsement. This funding was not available in the 2023-2024 school year, and the stipends cannot be paid retroactively.
