Guidance and Agreement for Data Harmony, Responsibility, Retention, and Sharing (GADRRS)
Developed by the UF Lastinger Center for Learning, GADRRS, a universal data sharing agreement, is a free resource intended to serve as a standard agreement for schools, districts, researchers and solutions providers.
Designed to protect student data, this agreement outlines terms for data security, privacy and usage, ensuring student data is handled responsibly and in compliance with legal and ethical standards, as reviewed by the University of Florida’s General Council. By using this agreement, districts and organizations can minimize risks related to data breaches, unauthorized access, and misuse of student information.
GADRRS Goals:
- Ensure caregivers are aware of how their student’s data is being shared by schools/districts.
- Ensure that all school district partners consistently uphold the highest level of safety and security when receiving and handling student data.
- Reduce time and legal and administrative costs to create a data sharing agreement.
- Increase data available to conduct research.
- Support small districts with a template that has already been vetted and approved by legal entities and other districts.
